Play it Forward Music Foundation is dedicated to providing continuous, high-quality music instruction to music students who may not have access to it otherwise. In support of our mission, Play it Forward Music Foundation collaborates with school administrators to create a comprehensive music education program tailored to support students’ individual needs. Play It Forward offers a range of partnership collaborations from offering grant-funded music education programs, performances, and instrument donations to offering services on a fee-for service basis. The fees collected from these services help fund the foundation’s ongoing programs, which are essential in providing music education and access to musical instruments to underserved communities.
Play It Forward Music Foundation instructors are experienced and knowledgeable musicians who are passionate about sharing their love of music with others. Our teachers make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing them with the tools they need to express themselves. By focusing on skill development, life skills, and emotional well-being, Play it Forward Music Foundation is helping to create a brighter future for students, both in school and in their communities. If you are looking to bring music to your organization, please contact our staff. We would like to hear from you.
Currently, Play it Forward Music Foundation partners with two alternative education programs: New Horizon School and Learning Center in Santa Rosa and Journey Academy at TLC in Sebastopol.
New Horizon School
At New Horizon School, in Santa Rosa, Play it Forward Music Foundation provides weekly music classes to students for the past five years. These classes are centered around skill development and exploration, providing students with the opportunity to learn an instrument while also developing important life skills related to overcoming obstacles, coping with stress, establishing healthy habits, and strengthening focus, self-esteem, and interpersonal collaboration.
Play it Forward Music Foundation partners with Journey Academy at TLC to offer a high-quality bi-weekly music elective to high school students. This program is designed to meet the needs of students who may be facing difficult life circumstances. Through the power of music, these students connect with each other and with their own emotions in a safe and supportive environment.
